COLUGO

Privacy

Last updated 24 September 2026

This policy covers the Colugo family of Android apps, currently Colugo Scan. It explains what stays on your device, what leaves it, and who receives it.

The short version

Colugo apps have no accounts and no sign-in. Scanning is done entirely on your device, and your scan history never leaves it. The one thing that does send data off your device is advertising, which is served by Google AdMob.

Scanning

Colugo Scan reads codes using the camera. The recognition model is bundled inside the app, so decoding happens on your device and works with no network connection.

What is stored on your device

None of it leaves the device. Delete a single history entry with the bin icon beside it, or remove everything by uninstalling the app.

Wi-Fi codes

A scanned Wi-Fi code contains the network password. Colugo Scan does not display it — it shows the network name and keeps the password available only through the "Copy password" action. The scanned text is held in your on-device history like any other code, and is never transmitted.

Advertising

Colugo Scan shows ads served by Google AdMob. AdMob is operated by Google and collects data for advertising, including:

This collection is carried out by Google, not by Colugo. Colugo receives aggregate reporting only, and never sees these identifiers. Google's handling of this data is described in Google's Privacy Policy and in how Google uses data from partner sites and apps.

You can reset or delete your advertising ID at any time in Settings → Privacy → Ads on your Android device.

Permissions

Children

Colugo apps are not directed at children, and no data is knowingly collected from them.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. Material changes will be described here rather than made quietly.
